[back...]This tiny island north of Cancun is an excellent daytrip if you want to do some snorkling or boat touring. We found the local market, narrow main street, and restaurants far more colourful than what you would find on the main strip in Cancun.
On our day trip toured by Gabriel, a local guide, we snorkled through three different areas around Isla Mujeres. The storm on the previous day had cleared much of the debris and the fish came out in full colour. A disposable underwater camera is a must for an occasion like this.
We were told that the best time to photography this area is in October. Gabriel mentioned that he had seen up to eight different shades of blue in the water one day last year. A photographer's dream.
